about

Good things are better late than never. Oddfellow's Picnic has been hard at work, crafting new songs and new sounds. This single marks the first of tunes soon to come. It's still just three dudes live in a room but the sound is bigger. So please listen loud. Thanks and blessings to all our friends. Here it is.... the Storm Came Late!

lyrics

well we made it through a week of Mondays
ready for a two day break
jammin' tunes, had our mojo running
everything was going our way

we decided to have a party
set the table and cut the cake
in the midst of all our laughter
well, the house began to shake

the winds hit like a hammer
the rain did spit in our face
we thought it might be the raputre
but the storm came late
the storm came late

Farmer John sat down for the evening
done his chores for the day
pulled a cork and he started sipping
it helped the way his bones would ache

He didn't notice no commotion stirring
he was dreaming of beans and steak
thunder came in such a hurry
that's when the ground began to quake

them hooves beat like hammers
and Lord, did it scare him awake
Farmer John thought it was the rapture
but one hundred head of cattle went right through his gate
the storm came late

Jack and Jill were back at the Motel
countin' their money from the bank
it wasn't their fault that the keys to the vault
were two .45s in nickel plate

they pulled out a map and started drawing
black ink marked the route of escape
but the Motel Clerk he heard whispered words
he knew he had no time to waste

Red & Blue flashed like a camera
sirens sang through the place
Jill ran for the bathroom
and Jack caught lead right in his face
the storm came late

Oddfellow's Picnic Oregon

Oddfellow's Picnic came together by circumstance... and food. All members met while working at an organic farm in the south Willamette Valley. The band forged a bond in the fires of food, community, and rock and roll. The music is an embodiment of that. ... more
